To be honest, the Carpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve wasn’t much of a hike from what I saw. Now, you can walk along the beach to make it a longer walk, but I didn’t go that far. Apparently, that is the real hike. I only did the .13 miles to the trail.
For me, someone who is very out of shape after having recovered from a broken leg, I could walk that part easily.
I walked about as far as the railroad tracks and was greeted by this gorgeous view. Had I gone further, I would have seen the seal overlook. I honestly wish I had done more research before I went out, because the overlook was one of my main goals for the trip. I highly recommend a trip to the Carpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve, even if you do only walk a short way it’s well worth it.
